Is the piercing I did myself infected?

omg I need help. okiie I periced myself without telling my mom. and I didint follow all the rules about it. and like inside my lip the hole is white. and im really scared that I got it infected ;O how do I take care of it. please help me asap!

peircing yourself is always dangerouse…because your not a trained peircer so all you know how to do is stick a metal needle through your skin. but peircing is a lot more than that. next time id go to a profesional but you do need some help in the meantime. its not necesarily an infection. sometimes you can get white stuff there for a few weeks/ or months. it also might just be pus. which your body is making to help heal the wound. either way it doesnt sound life-threatening or seriouse. your mum is going to find out though. right now you shouldnt change the peircinbg for about 2 months. they take around 3+ to heal so dont constantly play with it or change it for a while.its also hard to say whats wrong with it without seeing it. so if your really worried head down to a peircer and just ask him or her if its going to be okay. your lip will also have swelled up, this is normal and should only last around 3 days. in the meantime it would be good to clean it reguarly. use a sea salt…fill a cup full of warrm water with a tablespoon of sea salt, mix and then rest your newly peirced lip in it for about 15 minutes, do that for a few days- week to help heal it. any more proiblems just ask!

its supposed to be white…for like a week or so almost two…dont panic!!! this is what you do…rub peroxide on it in the morning and at night before you go to bed and eah time after you eat rinse your mouth with mouth wash to aviod infection…

The white doesn’t mean infection. When I got my lip pierced it was white for a little while on the inside too, and it wasn’t infected. Isn’t your mom going to noticed you pierced your lip anyways?

Your going to want to get midical attention asap or you could end up with a massive hole in your mouth!

go to your mum and confess 2 after she’s forgiving beprepared for her lecture..£ then your mum will drive you to the clinic or you would have to go by ureself (have too) and get it checked..and see what the doctor says..I

Is the white that you’re seeing kind of a discharge? If so then chances are that it is NOT infected, normally when you get a lip piercing you have a white or yellowish discharge on the inside of your lip where the piercing is, it’s COMPLETELY normal, now if the discharge is like brown or green then you could have a small infection. Keep cleaning it as you ususally would & rinse with some salt water after eating & drinking.

I dont think its infected.. I got lip piercing and I did it myself. I got the whitish things too. ^^
