What does it mean when you try to make a password and it says "Your password must contain at least 1 non-alphanumeric character(s)"?

It means the password should be made up of letters and at least one number. Mixed passwords are harder for other people to guess, so are better for security.

you need at least one symbol that isn’t a letter or number examples are: £$%^&*()-=+@?_

It could be any symbol on the keyboard that is not a number or a letter: !@#$%^&*()
