Is my nail going to fall off?

I smashed my finger in a metal door, and my finger was almost all black. its getting bettter color wise, but my nail is the only thing black.

I think its going to fall off, and thats what everyone says, is it ? and can I prevent that from happening ? because it seriously hurts like a mother!

maybe, my dad was in the same situation, but they grow back fast. wait and see, the only way to keep it on is to like tape it on or something

hmm my friend had a black nail for 3 months, it didnt fall off… but it wasnt hurting either…
