How to fix orange hair and blonde roots?

alright, originally I had black hair…now I have heard all the horror stories about looking like a pumpkin after bleaching it. well, I now look like a pumpkin, but since I had blonde roots (in which I stayed away from with the bleach) my hair is orange and blonde. When I try to get the blonde out with an ash blonde color do I put the color on my roots as well??? Help!!!

try going to a proper hairdressers, I did mine in stages, I did go from black, then to light brown, then I went a horrible orange, then I niceish ginger, then blonde, check my pictures and see the colour change

u should start with the ends 1st. then after like 10 min apply to your roots. it may take a couple of dye jobs to get the color you want, but make sure that between each one you wait at least a wk. and condition good…

First of all… Going from black to blond, you NEED to use a kit with bleach or else it will turn orange, like it did. Thats the only time you should use one with bleach, is when your going from a really dark colour. There is only one brand I would recommend for bleaching with a home kit and thats Frost&Glow, works amazing. Always remember… when bleaching, don’t go all the way to the roots. This is because it will go to the roots by itself, dye it just below the roots. I took several hair styling classes and thats a mistake a lot of people make.

using ash or golden colors probably won’t help your situation.
