Ok im 18 years old I dont have time to go back to high school. If I get my g.e.d will it be the same thing as a high school diploma and can I go to college still and get a good paying job? And will it be eassy to pass the test and also is it safer to take the test online or go to a place that provides that test?

Hey there!!! I’m 17 and I just got my G.E.D!!! I finished in about a month and just got my diploma about 2 weeks ago!!! It is fairly easy to pass. I would recommend taking a few of the classes before you take the test (you can work around your schedule). In case nobody has explained it to you, there are 5 tests that you have to take 1. Multiple choice language arts 2. Multiple choice social studies 3. multiple choice science 4. Math (2 sections- one with calculator and one without) 5. Writing. I really encourage you to do this. I had a college instructor tell me that most teachers look more highly towards the Ged than high school diploma. And, you can get into college with a GED. I start classes this fall! =]] Hope I helped.

You are NOT alone I heard on the radio the other day that 1 out of 4 kids in school will quit . In my town there is a place where you can go and practice and also take the test. And to answer your question , Yes it is the equivalent to a high school diploma and you can go to college. Good Luck

Actually it is true that the GED is equivalent to a Diploma, but the Diploma will always be weighted heavier than the GED. A person with a Diploma vs a person with a GED will get picked 9 times out of 10. The main reason being that the person with the diploma has shown that they are able to set a goal and stick with it until completion. Keep in mind though I am speaking for a job right out of highschool. If that same person with the GED continues on to college and finishes then all playing fields are leveled.

Most of the stigma comes from data that has been gathered from groups of people. As an individual if you stick to your guns and follow your dreams and put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything you set out to do.
