Norfolk Island Pine

I got one for christmas. I was wondering if its safe to plant outside I live in Indiana.

NO! dont put it outside unless you live in zone 10 or 11, which are the hottest parts of calif and florida… It’s not really a pine… and cannot take temperatures lower than 30 F,,,

Probably best to keep it in a large pot out of extreme cold conditions.

They are originally from an island on the east coast of Australia, you’ve got it now, all you can do is try…pines are pretty tough

Plant it well away from your house or any concrete drive ways/paths…or keep it in a large pot. They grow HUGE

Its cold and snows here and often gets 20 below 0 is it ok?
