Negativity, negativity, negativity

Why are people so negative?

Today I was speaking to a cousin of mine, who is going to England permanently and I said that I’d love to go for a visit or maybe work, when I am finished studying. Then she probably listed 10 reasons why I wouldn’t be able to go or why it is so difficult, because of law changes etc etc…

The other day I was speaking to a friend of mine, telling him how I would like to be rich one day, so that I wouldn’t have to work for the rest of my life. And once again I got many reasons why this is impossible

Also people around me keep critizising others about their weight, there life, their money, that they won’t be successful etc etc.

Why are people so negative? I don’t get it. I’d rather sit and look for a solution to a problem then think about why I can’t do it. To me if you sit and think of all the reasons you can’t do something you won’t get it done anyway.

It’s hard to see the good side of things…

That’s the way of humans, we all usually look at the bad side cause it’s our nature!

Hard to believe huh??

Answer #2

I think people rationalize their pessimism by saying they are being “realistic” (it also justifies their not doing anything)… the trick is to not listen, and follow your dreams and desires…so what if that dream or desire isn’t filled…It’s all about the jouney, not the destination…and the fullfillment that comes when you know you did your best.

ohsarah, I get being realistic. I am a realist, but people are just down right saying things can’t be done, yet there is always a way of doing them…realistically They are so negative. And I don’t get why.

Answer #4

People are negative because its easier to see the bad things in life rather than the good things.

just you think about the good things in life.

no one gets anywhere being apathetic and pessimistic.

Answer #5

People criticising other people is probably caused by jealousy or by insecurities.

Personally I always try to be optimistic and I’d rather try stuff other then never knowing, but I feel people are negative because of maths, all these statistics and so on, all these peple saying “you’ve got a one in 1 million chance”.

I think if we stuffed maths and said it’s unlikely, people wouldn’t be so negative. They’d think well it is unlikely but not impossible other then “one in a million, huh I’ll never be that one”.

You wanna be rich, go for it!!!

Answer #6

I’m a realist and there is no ideal world but if someone has a dream what’s wrong with pursuing it?

Answer #7

Maybe they’re just being realistic.
