My Dad wont let me a tattoo for my b-day.

Ok, well I’ve been thinkin about getting a tattoo ever since my 15th B-day, which was about 5 months ago. I started looking at some pictures and found a Gemini symbol that represents me. I’m a gemini so yeah, and my mom said it was kool if I wanted one, but my dad said absolutely not. That I’m too young to be making that decision and I shouldn’t even ask him about it anymore.

Is he in over his head Or am I? How can I convince him to let me get one?

You should respect your Dad and get it later.

All you need is one parent to take you, so just get your mom to take you to get it. Some 15-year-olds shouldn’t get tattoos because they get things they just think are cute with no meaning BUT I mean… you’re always going to be a Gemini so I see nothing wrong with you getting it. I don’t think you’re over your head.

Answer #7

my opinion…listen to your dad. wait three more years and if you still really want one then you can legally get it for yourself.

your dad is trying to do what’s best for you.

Seriously, what is the big rush? I’ve planned many tattoos in my teenage years (and that’s not very long ago either), all of them unique to me and had huge meanings to me, but never got any done for various reasons.

And now that I look back at my ideas and pictures of tattoos that I wanted, I’m glad I never got them, because even in a few years, my tastes have changed and it looks silly, but of course a few years back it was awesome-looking. Even if you have a Gemini tattoo because you’re a Gemini, you might not like the design of it (there are so many kinds of Gemini tattoos out there) in the future.

This is why it’s better for you to wait until you’re older when you can think for yourself a little better. No offense, but it takes awhile for a child/teenager’s brain to develop so that it can make better decisions in life. Time and experience will give you a better view. This is why legal drinking ages and the age to drive are in the later teenage years. I know it seems unfair and that you have thought a lot about getting a tattoo, but you’ll understand sometime that teenage-thinking and adult-thinking are really different.
