methods to help calm down
I tend to lose it from time to time at home and I would like to know some methods for calming down before an arguement gets started
lol yumiyukai, only in a perfect world with perfect people would a person let someone finish yelling and giving them an earful of vebal spray and then afterwards have the calmness to ask if they can talk. ;)
skullzlover18, the only tips I can give you is, if you sense there will be a heated argument coming, just walk away and tell the person to talk to you when you or they are in a better mood…It’s way better to leave the room then continue listening til they have finish blabbering as the person on the receiving end will only end up firing back and the agrument snowballs.
I live with my two brothers and we get into a lot of arguments as I’m very bossy..If you feel or see someone is pissed off, go and do something that will temporarily cheer you up.eg: watch some bloopers, go for a walk, turn your music up and sing at the top of your lungs lol.
I have to walk it off when my dearest darling hubby gets my dander up. The other thing that helps me is ^belly aching^ to my girlfriends. They trade me their problems for mine; then we laugh it off.
think about what you’re tense at. if it’s something that doesn’t seem to be worth it, then calm yourself down. different people are different. I can do it just by telling myself. some have different methods such as breathing or counting to ten. most things that are worth being mad at are very rare.. most people tend to get mad over little things.. most people get angry over opinions.. if it’s someone’s opinion making you mad then see why it’s their opinion rather than trying to force them to think they’re wrong. and remember, if it’s their opinion and not yours, leave it to their opinion.
you mean leave the room? don’t interrupt someone while they’re talking, that’s rude. let them finish and ask if you can have your turn to speak, yelling shouldn’t be even part of the situation, even if you’re mad. if you can’t have your turn, walk away.
go into another room where it’s quiet , close your eyes , count down from 20 , and think about the ocean or whatever makes you happy .
Ignore is your best bet or think about something else and just nod your head every once in a while.
what if someone won’t let you leave the wrong, like if they say they’re not finished yet
close your hands tightly and count 1-10 slowly in your mind. dont stop before 10. by the time you reach 10, your anger would hv been gone. it really works like wonders. it has been tested.
