Mardi Gras
I didn’t realize that Mardi Gras was not a national holiday, probley until I was in highschool. It’s such a big deal down here (I’m 30 mins away from New Orleans) and such a huge part of the life and spirit down here.
I’m just wondering, has anyone one here ever experienced true Mardi Gras? Has anyone ever came down to New Orleans and experience the madness?
This has got to be my favorite time of the year. We have already been to 6 parades and we still have about 20 more coming up! It’s amazing this time of year.
I wouldn’t consider a 4th grade Mardi Gras - true Mardi Gras. I don’t know, I guess you would have to come down to New Orleans to understand what Mardi Gras truly is. lol
Yes. In 4th Grade. We made floats. It was fun.
I’m afraid that’s one event I have not seen, and probably will not ever see.
It’s a little out of my way…besides, we’re just finishing up Winter Carnival, lol
I have & it was amazing. Its really neat to see so many people bond at one time :)
yeah im only 30 mins away from nola and I love mardi gras! I have family up north and they sell king cakes around this time in bakery shops but other that that I haven’t heard of national celebration of mardi gras.
I love it!
The parades are fun, but the partying is the best! We get out of school the day after. And I’m so happy about it because I rreally don’t wanna go to school still f you cked up from the night before. lol.
