Making me take 4 classes

I wrote on here a week or so ago about my parents, Now they told me I have to go to school full-time to stay on their insurance.

I have been paying for my school for a year, I had to buy my own desktop computer (I wanted a laptop), I was told by my dad I didn’t need a laptop. I was 17 at the time. I now need a laptop. My parents are making me pay them back for my classes and books, I pay all my own bills, except utilities and food. My parents won’t accept any money those things.

I owe the $4225 for my car and transmission repair. Now I’m going to owe them $5100 by the end of the semester, my dad said I will have to take a cut in hours at work.

My Question is should I tell my parents that they have to pay for my school and let me work, or should I take a cut in hours and pay them back???

I have been working since 2005 when I turned 15, I have had very steady jobs. I worked really hard to get where I’m at hour wise. I do buy grocerys sometimes, I pay for my own gas, phone, credit cards, and clothes. I also pay for netflix for the family.

My sister got her 1st two cars paid for and my brother is getting his 1st car paid for, I’m the middle child. I will be 19 next week.

Help me please!!!

It will take me along time to pay them off if I have to keep borrowing money from them, My sister borrowed $2000 from them and they have yet to pay them back. I was told that I had to set an example for my Older Sister, I have always payed back my parents but this is such a huge dollar amount it is very overwelming.

well I think school is much important because you will always have a job opportunity it sounds like. so sit and talk to your parents about it, tell them your not really ready to start working and cut down on your classes because its important for them to realize that you want to pay them back and be responsible without losing hours of time well spent at school. so try and work something out maybe a promise to pay them back when your done with school.

I don’t think you can “tell” your parents that they have to pay for your school, unless they are willing to do so. You are an adult now and you should do what you need to do to finish school and move on with life.
