How can I stop being so lonely?

hello I am a 19 year old male who has spent all of his life being lonely and has never been on a date or never been in a relationship or even kissed a girl because up until now I have never made it a big priority to get a girl friend because I had so much going on to worry about it , but now I have graduated high school and am entering collage but every were I go I see my friends with their their very attractive girlfriend , and I am stuck by myself still lonely , but I cannot figure out why I am have so much trouble finding a girlfriend , I have a job that I work 30 hours a week and make good money and attend collage full time, so I am not a hermit or anything like that , I have had many rejections in the past which made me feel worthless and often time I feel depressed and lonely and I also contemplated suicide more than once , because I feel dying young is better than living a long lonely life full of misery , I really need a girlfriend because I hate being this way , I just want a girlfriend to hug or buy something for or take out to dinner and spend time with , someone please help me I really hate being lonely , I feel like there I nothing to live for and that life is pointless if you dont have someone to share it with
