Large hadron collider

What is your opinion on the large hadron collider?

Answer #1

I think it’s exciting and I wish I had enough intelligence to be able to see the data and analyze it myself. I do not think it’s going to cause any serious harm.

Answer #2

It has the possibility of confirming our most fundamental theories. But suppose there are errors in our fundamental theories, and the LHC ends up producing micro black holes at the predicted rate of 1 per second, but they do not evaporate as expected, but instead start sucking matter in and growing. So long earth.

Could this be the reason we find no evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence? Every species that makes it as far as us wipes themselves out by inadvertently creating black holes?
