What laptop should I buy?

My dad’s going to buy me a laptop as a graduation present, but I’m not sure what to get. I’m going to be using it for taking notes and writing papers in college. But I’m also a big gamer (I want a computer that can run WoW, Left for Dead 2, Final Fantasy and etc.) Any suggestions?
