Labor day, why can't you wear white after it?

Sorry but I don’t know what labor day is for and what it is…also why is it wrong or do you get judged for wearing white after labor day???

Labor Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the first Monday in September. The holiday originated in 1882 from a desire by the Central Labor Union to create “a day off for the working man”.

As for the wearing white thing, back in “The Day” it was a fashion no-no to wear white after labor day or before memorial day. Nowadays it doesn’t really matter. Although your granny might get on to you about it,lol
