Kid with an autism disorder

A friend of mine has a child with autism, is there any hope that his kid live normally after reaching adulthood?

It really depends on how high on the spectrum he/she is.

A high functioning autistic person can lead a very normal life, hold a job, have their own home, etc.

As ichibanarky says it depends on how high up on the spectrum they are. Also make sure they are being seen by an Ocupational Therapist because they can help them to lead a more normal life. My mum is an OT and has many autistic/aspergers patients and a lot of them have been able to lead normal lives and the tasks they use definately help them to achieve that! Hope this helps x
