jogging & hip pain

I just started working out a few months ago…Out of the blue my hips started hurting, so I slowed down on the treadmill & weight lifting lower body…this worked…I just took my dog out only walked did less than 1/4 mile of jogging… Yep, my hips hurt! I am alittle over weight 10 to 15 lbs. Should I see a doctor, I really enjoy working out just don’t like all the test or prescriptions… etc… Any solutions???

did you change your sneakers recently? I’ve had knee problems after changing sneakers so maybe the same thing could happen to your hip =/
