Is this enough food to get by for a day?

I have a friend who is trying to cut down on her weight, her idea was to stop eating all together, but I have been able to compromise a little and got her to at least agree to a breakfast consisting of a banana and granola/oatmeal bar, a healthy snack in place of lunch, and a healthy snack in place of dinner. Also, she agreed to at least eat a real dinner on Sunday nights at youth group, and also on another day of the week.

Is this enough food to get by for a week? She doesn’t participate in any sports, and she isn’t the most active person.

Well, you see, she is a little stubborn and I’ve been trying to get more out of it, but really, I don’t know if she really plans on excercising or not. But the situation now is a lot better than not eating at all, so I don’t know what’s going to happen.

Answer #2

depends on what you mean by “snack”, most of the snacks mentioned by amblessed are around 100-200 calories… which is definitely not enough… if she wants to lose weight, why not just do it the right way?

Answer #3

I think it’s fine. as long as she’s eating. it’s actually really good to eat five small healthy meals a day, it actually doesn’t make you gain anything. my friend decided to eat one small bag of chips a day… sorry, but that’s stupid. she was also going to only drink one coke a day… I don’t think she knows what she’s doing.

Answer #4

Yea, that’s what I’m hoping, because really, I don’t think she needs to lose any weight at all. I think her figure is perfect, she isn’t skinny per se, but she could be considered “curvacious” if you would. Yea, she has a little fat on her body and a little fat on her stomach, but I find that much more comfortable to cuddle with than hard abs or something.

Answer #5

Okay, neat, I just had to make sure she was eating something and not starving herself. But yea, a bag of chips and a coke for a day just seems stupid ( sorry for being a little mean). I mean, if you’re going to cut down on eating, I think you should at least replace food with something healthy, not junk. I have another question. She was also thinking about starting an excercise routine, would that aforementioned amount of food give her enough energy to sustain excercise for maybe an hour repeated days?

Answer #6

just see how it goes, odds are she’ll probably give this up in a couple of days… crash diets rarely last long
