Is my puppy blind?

I found two puppies and they had magets on them one had in its eyes. They are so small that I have to bottle feed them. The one that is bigger its eyes have just open. And the smaller one eyes are still closed and when I open them you can barely see the eyeball and they are a film over them that looks more like skin. So can you plese tell me if you think it might be blind?

Answer #1

First let me say, “Please do not try to pry the eyes apart yourself, because you will do damage”, and the puppy may go blind, if you do! Puppy’s usually open their eyes on their own in 10 days to 2 weeks, some are just late bloomers and they take a little longer. The puppy that hasn’t opened it’s eyes yet, is not ready to open them. I would him go about 3 weeks, and if he does not open them on his own, and again I stress to you to “Please Do Not Try To Pry Them Open Yourself”, then I would say it’s time to take the puppy to a vet. They can determine why the pup isn’t opening it’s eye’s and take the proper action to fix it.

Answer #2

Yes I agree… Please have a vet check both of the puppies to make sure that if they need medicines, you can get them started right away. I surely hope that your rescued pups will be on their way to good health soon!! I am in tune with my 2 “babies” as well as my 3 cats, so I am quick to notice if something seems out of the ordinary. Give them lots and lots of love and you will have many kisses to last a lifetime.

Answer #3

It seems as if it may just not be old enough to have open its eyes yet. Do you know about how many weeks old it is and if they are the same age/same litter? I think the best thing would be to take them both to the vet to get their eyes checked and also for heartworms and other things that you may not be able to physically see.

Answer #4

GO TO THE VET!!! WHAT ARE U WAITING FOR???

Answer #5

my puppy is 16 days old, he was rejected by his mum at 9 days old, all his 6 sisters who are with there mum have opened there eyes. Is he ok? should I get him to the vets/

Answer #6

I remember I had 3 kittens. It takes time until they open up but the third one opened up last while the other two already opened… IT takes times but If i were you i would take them to the VET.
