How do you get yourself interested in new bands and music?

by listening to them, trying to find different bands in the genre you like most. like for rock music i normally look over the rock genre every week in itunes looking for new bands. or go on artists myspace and look at their friends on it and most of the times they have smaller unknown bands as friends and you listen to their stuff. or radio too

You don’t get yourself interested. You listen to them, you like them, and then you find yourself interested.

if u want to listen to new things, then just listen to them and yeah but if u r just doing because of other people or too fit in then i dnt think u should, be u! lol idk if this is the case, im just saying lol, good lucj!

Go out on a limb! Find some hole-in-the-wall vinyl stores, go see a concert of a local band you’ve never heard of, buy random cds just because you like the album art. You’ll get a wider taste in music, and sometimes you might get surprised :)
