Infected piercing

My navel piercing has a red bump around the top ball. I’m washing it with salt water twice a day. Anything else I can do? :(

Answer #1

I used mouthwash when I got mine done any name brand mouthwash…Listerine

Answer #2

Also, keep the area dry. After cleaning it with soap and water, pat dry with gauze (dry completely) then apply the Neosporin and cover with small gauze and tape. This keeps it clean and helps keep the Neosporin off your clothes. It won’t stain but is kinda greasy. {=

Answer #3

Try Neosporin on the red area. You can buy it otc. If it becomes hot to the touch, painful to touch, or develps pus see your Dr immediately.

Answer #4

You should really see a doctor because it could be an infection and also your body could be rejecting the piercing. Until you can get in to see one:

-Clean it well with anti-bacterial soap (non-scented) and flush it out with warm water. -After cleaning it - soak the piercing in warm salt water. -Do this about 3-4 times a day

If it is still infected or red in 3 days - see a doctor - he can prescribe you antibiotics.

Answer #5

it cud be a keloid and you shud get sea salt and soak it like that..good luck…
