infected gauged ears

I just recently gauged my ears I went basically from nothing to a 00 well I went to a 6 first but only for a day and now I think my ears are infected what is the best product to use to help the healing process

Answer #1

Salt water baths. Put about half a tea spoon full of salt in some boiling hot water, put some cotton wool or tissue in the water and then leave it to soak on the ear. Do this twice a day. If the infection is still present after say 4 days go and seek medical attention. This is the reason why you’re supposed to gauge gradually to minimise things like that happening- the skin is traumaed.

I didn’t skip any sizes. I went from a 5/8 to a 3/4. And yet my ears are sore, almost purple, and very crusty. But in the past I have found that soaking your gauges in alcohol is fine. but don’t use it or peroxide on your ear. it dries it out and takes away all the bacteria needed to heal. So soak your gauges, but, use warm salt water on your ears. Any salt it fine, but I recommend non iodized sea salt, or you can use a mouth wash called H2 ocean, sold at many piercing shops. Or use the ear piercing solution from Claire’s.

WOW! risk taker, I dont think so more like stupid…u could have messed your ears up really bad…but make sure you take your plugs out once a week and clean them with isopropyl alcohol..(its the kind most people call rubbing alcohol) by letting the plugs soak in it. Than wipe hte out /off with a sterile close.. Next take a q-tip and put some tripple anibiotic ointment on it and rup it in and around the infected area…once thats done put the now clean plugs back in your ears and within a week they should be just fine…make sure you clean your ears at least once a week like this though to keep them safe forever!
