The pill is 99.9% effective if used correctly.

It starts being effective after 2 weeks of starting to use it.

Here is some information she should know.

She needs to take it the SAME time every day for it to be effective. (and hour or a few minutes out won’t affect it’s effectiveness that much.

If she misses one pill (I.e. skips a WHOLE DAY), she needs to take two the next day.

If she misses 2 pills she’ll need to take them again for 2 weeks before she’ll be protected.

She ALWAYS needs to use extra protection when on antibiotics because that can affect the effectiveness of the pill. (especially anti-biotics for acne)

Also herbs like st John’s worth affect the effectiveness of the pill.

so always ask her doctor if she starts on new medication about how it will affect the pill.

otherwise it’s the most effective contraception out there if used correctly.
