I told him I love him but I dont know if he loves me back..!

I just told me Ex that I sill love him and he said it was really sweet.The thing is that I HAVE a boyfriend!James(my boyfriend) just isnt that fun as he use to be,Yesterday I found him behind some trees cutting himself and I tried to help him but he just ignored me.I felt relly bad.But after I told my ex how I felt, I felt like I got a HUGE load off my chest.Now me and my ex are always texting and I feel like im falling even MORE inlove with him.James is only really hugging me and telling me he loves me like only once a week,But with my ex he tells me im beautiful everyday! and how he loves my eyes!.He make me feel GREAT.My teacher told me that ‘’every girl needs a man to tell them that their beautiful’’Do you think thats true? Is she making a point?My ex is making me feel like im going back out with him,and I think thats bad,Isnt it?

I hung out with james today and some of our friends and he really didnt talk to me at all till I had to leave he huged me,thats about it=/.But when my ex textes me or calls me I get all excited.And I found out that my boyfriends ex who lives in NY asked him out and he told him friend alex who is a really good friend of mine that he would say yes if he wasnt going out with me.What does that mean?

Its all got me really confused!!?!? I really need help!
