I dont understand this? what does it mean?

Not neccasarily. She could actually be further along than that. She said she had a period, but it could have been spotting and she could have already been pregnant and not have known it. Chances are she is about 7-9 weeks pregnant already.

What they are trying to say is that - when a doctor calculates your due date, they use the last day of your last period and calculate it from that.
Go to your local pharmacy or call your OB?GYN. If you don’t understand, say so. They will break it down for you and then you will understand. Mandyloo had the best answer. Also ask for the ovalation wheel.
It depends on when her period was, women ovulate right after their periods, if she had sex before that, she most probley already pregnant from previous time since she wasn’t ovulating.
What you have to remember that a due date is nothing more than an estimate, there is no way to know for sure exactly when you concieved since sperm lives in the body for up to 3 days.
When a doctor gives you a due date - he goes by your last missed period. They ask you what the lest day of your last period was - and they calculate your due date using that date.
uhm that makes no sense… and I dont think doctors do it quite that way…
