Why do I eat when I'm hurt or upset?

I’m not fat but i don’t understand why i do it.

Answer #1

Its a stress release mechanism that you adopted, but I’m assuming that you have a fast metabolism, which is why your body tends to burn off the food you eat a lot quicker than the average person per se.

Even though you have a fast metabolism, this doesn’t mean that this bad habit won’t eventually catch up to you, you need a real solution and resorting to food isn’t going to change the way you’re feeling.

Thanks for answering. :)

Answer #3

It comforts you? I’m the opposite if I’m hurt or stressed or sad I won’t eat.

Answer #4

People have unusual habits when they hurt or upset. Most of them don’t like to eat anything while they upset. It’s good that you like to eat while you are upset.

Answer #5

how is that good? ima get fat!

Answer #6

it’s called ‘comfort eating’ and no, you don’t have to be fat to do it..

it could be regarded as you ‘trying to fill a hole’… sadness or being upset often leaves people feeling ‘empty’, filling that emptiness with food is quite common.

stress and anxiety tend to be the opposite, because they make you feel nauseous often, and the stomach ‘feels’ knotted
