How to sort out a infection on my dog?

I as away for the last week so I left my 19 week old golden lab with my fiancee’s parents to look after him and I noticed tonight after bringing him for a walk I was playing with him and got a smell off him so I checked it out and notice a infection under his neck it looked a bit raw where his collor was so I took it off him and you could see his skin was red so is the anything I can gt fom the pet shop to use to clear it up or will I need to bring him to the vet I was thinking of using the medicated shapoo I have

Clean it with soap and water. If you can, clip the hair around it, so it gets air…don’t put his collar back on it, until it’s healed. If it doesn’t start looking like it’s healing up good, then take him to the Vet…he might need antibiotics.

You want to use medicated shampoo on a wound? I wouldnt recommend it. If it is infected, he’s going to need some sort of antibacterial something. You can check at the pet shop but you’ll probably have to go to the vet.
