How to help my money tree live?

I’ve had the money tree since February and for the past month the leaves are no longer green and thick but more thin, paler, and wrinkly. I live in the desert part of California where the temperature reaches the 100’s. I water my tree every Sunday with at least one cup of water. I let my tree sit in by the window pane all day so it can recieve daylight when the sun changes position so it does not recieve light all day but a few hours. I don’t really do anythin else to my plant but the how do I take care of my tree. This is the first plant I have had so basic care would be helpful. Any tips when to let it outside or how much I should water it. Also my money tree is small, I don’t know how old it is though. It is in the same pot as I bought it in, it is a small pot. The tree is about one foot tall.

Hi,

Money trees are acclimated to warm (not hot) and humid atmospheres, they are a tropical plant. You should water it regularly but also mist it with a bottle sprayer every day to stimulate humidity. If you are in a dry area, that is most likely the problem.

Hope that helps.
