How to cure ripped skin from upper lip caused from veet?

I used veet to remove hair off of my upper lip, and it ripped my skin along with the hair. It looks awful. Scabs didn’t appear yet. And I’m afraid if scabs appeared I wouldn’t be able to cover it with makeup. How can I heal my skin fast without forming scabs? I have 3 circles all over my upper lip and it looks awful, please help!!!

Answer #1

From my understanding, Veet is a chemical hair remover, not a wax, so you couldn’t have ‘ripped’ the skin off. What you have is a chemical burn. Veet is meant to be used on coarse hair like the type found on your legs and underarms. If you want to use a chemical hair remover on your face, you need to use one that is specially designed to be milder. Try something by Sally Hansen. To treat your chemical burn, wash your face with a very gentle soap and use Neosporin or another similar ointment. It’s going to probably scab, depending on how bad the burn is. It’s going to look awful and you’re not going to be able to cover it up too well with make-up. Sorry, but good luck.

I would just put plenty of cream on it a couple of times a day & let it soak in, make sure its unperfumed as it will sting like hell. I know its common sense but I cut myself shaving my legs the other day & put shaving foam on the cut, I got the advice from kim & aggie, little did I know I read it wrong they said shaving cream I was in agony lol I dont think there’s much more you can do. if I was you I wouldnt use veet again, I used it once & didnt like it, besides that stuff stinks lol.

Answer #3

First, try to stay away from makeup. It is winter,u could cover your mouth with the neckwarmer for a while, lol.

Answer #4

keep neosporin on it as much as you can and be very gentle while washing your face

Answer #5

It sounds like you are having a reaction to the veet, not strange considering you used it on your face.

Treat it like sunburn and apply a cream with aloe vera on it and put ice/cold cloth on it. That should help for the swelling. Also go ask your pharmacist for a cream that will help it heal better.
