How to ask my Dad if I can move out?

Okay .. So I’ve posted here before but I didnt get much help .. Hoping to take another approach on how to move out. I’m 16 living in Ohio.. I want to ask my dad if I can move out and either live on my own or live with a friends family .. He doesn’t really do anything for me .. He gets $600 in child support but I don’t ever see it … Some is suppose to goto clothes .. Well I have 1 pair of jeans .. and he knows that. I have a job I work about 6days a week, I think I could live on my own .. Not to sure though ..

I was also maybe trying something like this .. Dad if you let me move out and use the child support money to pay for rent, I wont tell mom and you can keep the rest of the money or you can let me move out and not pay any and I’ll tell mom and you wont get any child support or you dont let me move out and when I turn 18 I’ll never talk to you again..

Not sure if thats a good idea, please give me ideas on how I can move out!

Never talk to you again threat is no good - only Dad you’ll ever have and you need each other - I think it would probably be best to stay and secure your education, graduate, then move out - seems like a long time now, but it isn’t at all - never hurts to ask though if you think that’s your best move…I wish you the best !!

You should just leave. If your 16 and practically living on your own anyways.. whats the point of his consint? If he is not providing you with what you need that is abuse. you could take him to court if you wanted to.

hope I helped, xoxo :)

Isn’t it illegal to just leave?
