How should I deal with my best friend's attitude?

Since I told her I was moving to New York for a year, my best friend and I have been constantly fighting. The last time, I told her I couldn’t go to prom with her. We had planned on it, but my dad’s company out in New York paid for a trip out there for my schools orientation. The problem is that it’s during prom. Now she’s calling me selfish, and saying that “I ruined the rest of her year”. Should I just put up with it since we’ve been friends for so long, or just tell her it’s done?

I think that you should talk to her about it. Honestly if my best friend was moving and didnt go to prom with me Id be very upset.. you have to give her the benifit of the doubt…and just explain what you have to do to her more… And maybe she will understandd!!!
