How intercoolers work?

How intercoolers work?

Answer #1

Forgot about the intercoolers incorporated into the cooling system: They use a small heater core that maintains the air temp from the coolant moving around the fins to lower the compressed air from the turbo or supercharger/blower, again making it more efficient for combustion.

Answer #2

Air to air use a radiator in front of the coolant radiator to cool the compressed air made by the compressor side of a turbo. It is cooled and therefore is more dense as it enters the intake manifold of the engine, giving it more power, and it also lowers the top end temp of the engine.
