How do you stop a dog from pooping 5x a day?

My dog poops 5 to 6 x aday . She poops as soon as she gets up , then again thirty mins. Later all through the day every day. how do you slow this down. It is normal poop. Just a lot of it. Please help!

There are 4 reasons why this might be happening,

  1. The food is full of fillers.
  2. The food is full of fat or grease.
  3. The dog is being fed too much or too often.
  4. The dog has worms, or other parasites. Another reason could be treats, do you feed the dog greasy treats, or table scraps? If you do, stop… people food is full of fat and spices that can irritate an animal’s digestive system and is not good for them, a lot of dog treats are bad, too.

Secretname is right about “fillers”. Most dogfoods bought in the grocery store are FULL of fillers such as corn, rice, or soy products. Look for a dog food where the 1st three ingredients are from a meat source.

Most adult dogs poop 2 to 3 times a day…and every dog’s body is individual…and your dog may process food fast, could have a smaller bowel than normal…

This is pretty darm minor.

You should try changing his food to another brand. Most foods from the supermarket have too many fillers which cause more poop. If you find a brand from the pet store that has more protein and rice/potato, it will reduce poop a lot. Mine only poop 2 x per day on a Eukanuba natural formula that is made with venison and potato.
