How do you stop a cat biting?

I’ve had my cat for about a year, and recently he’s started biting, I dont just mean a little nip, but drawing blood, what do I do?

Answer #1

Try spraying it with a spray bottle every time it bites you. Another thing you can do is grab it by the scruff of it’s neck and tell your cat “No.” It will calm the cat down and it won’t hurt it. It’s the same thing the mother would do to it when it was a kitten.

Answer #2

I would try a spray like Bitter Apple (do they still make that?) you should probably spray it on your hands and when your cat comes to bite, it will taste the bitter apple and assosiate your hand with a bad taste.

Answer #3

Never rough house with them…if you did when it was a kitten, this is why it’s biting now…They don’t realize that human skin can’t take the same bite they’d hand out to another cat…
