How do you make a topsy turvy cake with ALL BUTTERCREAM?

I know how to make a topsy turvy cake using fondant. But is it possible to make one using ALL BUTTERCREAM without it slipping. Any tips?

As well as placing dowels in the weightbearing cakes, also place one long support down through all of the assembled final cake, Niamh

You have to cut wedges out of the tops of the bottom and middle layers so that the cakes sit inside of the layer below it, rather than on top.
