How do I work out when I have back problems?

I want to keep working out, but my back problems are getting in the way.

I have a slightly curved spine which causes really bad discomfort while working out. I also have muscle problems in my back and neck, they are extremely tight and I can no longer turn my head sideways far, up or look down =(

What should I do about the excercises?

Answer #1

Talk to your doctor.

He can tell you whether or not it’s safe to continue working out. Sometimes, working out is beneficial for this sort of thing, but only on approval of a doctor as well as making sure you’re doing the proper exercises.

I broke my back in the military so I know how you are. I weight 185 before the accident and then I got as high as 290. It sucks bad, I had two things that worked for me. The first is a diet. You have to bust your butt on the diet. I hated dieting untili found this book one day online. It should me how to eat healthy. I never felt like I was on a true diet. The pounds started to melt off. The second thing is I used a pool to do under water work outs. It takes the pressure off your back. If you can use a pool start with the diet and when you heal start working. Good luck www.dietsolutionstoday.com
