Woooahhh. I think you need to be more educated on horses before YOU adopt one. They require a lot! Feeding(Hay or GrassCLEAN water would be good), Cleaning(Cleaning their stable,Hooves, Bathing, And Brushing), Shelter(A Stable would be nice). However, you CAN’T just keep it in a Stable all day. So, you would need a big open area(with a nice medium sized fence) For it to run around. Lots of grass there, If it was bad weathering or at night put it in the stable. But make sure the stable has lots of hay/grass/water. I forgot to mention but you have to keep it’s teeth clean, as well. Horses, Are NOT easy to take care of unless you’ve had a good amount of experience. Horses can get diseases, or get sick easily. They’re medical bill COULD and MOST likely will get pricey. If you can’t provide the following for a horse and you still get one, that would be animal cruelty. By the way, what’s a hack? You mean hike? It’s not like that’s the only breed of horse that can go on hikes. I don’t reccomend you get that breed, They’re QUITE the handful. I reccomend you get something well, that needs LESS care. But that’ll be a bit hard to find. dogluver.

Like everyone has said, there’s lots more to having a horse than just wanting one. It’s not like bringing a kitten home.

You didn’t say how old this horse is, or if it’s even green-broke…if not, that’s another large expense to add on to the already listed needs and expenses. Trainers aren’t cheap, and if you have no experience you aren’t going to learn how to train a horse via a book.

you mean a hike? and first you need t have the room to keep a horse you need a big block of land full of grass you also need a stable or soemwere it can sleep yu need to be able to afford to feed it every day and pay medcal bills for checkups or when it gets sick which are thousands of dollars a year and food isnt cheap you should also learn about horses if you dont have the land for it or cant afford to feed it keeing one would be animal cruelty

£500 for a friesian? sorry hun, but there must be something wrong with it. they are worth a lot more than that. I also agree with p74e. Friesians are not a good beginner horse as they can be very strong, and you should be an experienced rider before you buy one.

how about going for a cob, or a new forest pony instead. My first pony was a new forest, then I got an arab mare :) hope this helps.

And do you have a place to graze him? Can you afford to feed him every day? And you will have to be with him a lot and ride him a lot if you want him to trust you and vice versa.

If you are fully prepared for a horse then I do suggest getting an easier horse to handle, but if you are an experienced rider then go for it. You need to contact the place where you saw him for sale and organize a meeting seeing the horse in person and riding him before you buy him so you can see he is right for you. Do not just buy a horse on looks. Its often the beautiful, handsome horses that are the most trouble.

Answer #6

Well are you prepared for a horse? Especally for the Freisian breed They take a strong hand to ride, and not a good beginnger horse if that what you are looking for.

Answer #7

Maybe your mother will buy you the darling, maybe your friends can contribute

Answer #8

500 quid 4 a purebred friesian!!! bloody hell! (soz) there has 2 be somthing seriously wrong with it, or it just is very un handleable. Get a cob or newforest. Not a friesian, I have been with horses for 11yrs and i no that freisians are definatly not a good first horse! horses are not cheap and require a lot of time.
