How do I get my red dyed hair back to brown?

I dyed my brown hair red now I want to go back to brown , please help

Answer #1

The best way I no is to strip it out, and then dye it back brown. Or you could just wait untill the red comes out, but that would take along time &+ it would end up looking bad cause your roots. Try a salon, theyd no what to do.

Hi (= I dont think that stripping is absolutely necessary! If it was EXTREMELY dark red, then… maybe… but I’ve heard of (never used myself) a color product that removes pigment if your hair turned out the wrong color. It’s called “Color Oops” and it can be bought for about $12 from Walgreens. Anyways, I still don’t think that’s necessary. I’ve gone from red hair to brown to blonde and back many times. What you should try is dyeing your hair with a brown that has “cool” or “ash” labeled on the box. Ash is the opposite of red(for the color wheel and hair dye) and should do the trick. Also, You can probably just let it fade away because after all, red is the hardest color to KEEP in your hair. Simply lather your shampoo and use hot water. You should be fine (= Hope I’ve helped!!
