How do I get my mom to support me???

I want a labret piercing, one that I dont need to hide thistime. But how do I get her to understand? Shes always telling me whenever I want a piercing that its not good for someone my age. Im 13. I want the piercing. And she wont support me. Isnt she supposed to support me in what my choice is? Im old enough to make my own decisions

Answer #1

well to be honest you are only 13 and not old enough to make those decisions your still under you mothers care till at least 16

but your mother is right seeing a 13 year old with a metal bar sticking out of their face isnt pleasent and reflects badly on your mother.. many people judge by apperances and if they see you with a metal bar they are going to judge your mother not you.. they will say things like how on earth could she let her daughter do that and other such nice sentences.

plus as a person who has a labret hole..dont do it it rubs away your gums at the front and exposes the teeth root, if not makes them fall out all together.. I only wear mine on occasion now as full time wear was litterally waring away my bottom front teeth… so nah dont get one or if you do dont wear it all the time.

but please cut your mother some slack your still her little baby and you will be forever … it doesnt matter if you were 150 years old your still her baby..

Hah, I’m 14 and I had to wait a year for my tregus. Don’t expect it anytime soon. Explain the idea then you just have to wait. Parents don’t support that kind of stuff. You (and I) are still young, we are not old enough to make ALL of our own decisions.

Answer #3

I just kept begging my mom and she finally let me get it, tell her you’ll pay for it thats what won my mom over

Answer #4

hey I know my mom is the same way. I asked her that on my 16th b-day if I could get a lip piercing. she said no because it messes up your teeth. which if you get it done properly doesn’t and I’d be older and more responsible. um my advice, make her think that your more responsible like doing your homework and chores, and try asking on a birthday or on Christmas.

Answer #5

I am responsable. more responsable than my sister whos a year older than me! I do my homework, I do chores, but she still says no

Answer #6

I think you have to be 14 to get a labret, im getting mine in december :)
