How do I convice my mom to let me fly to see my boyfriend at 17?

Hey guys, okay so I’m 17 years old and for about a year and a half me and this guy have been talking. We really like eachother. But the problem is, he lives about 3000 miles from me. We are dating now, and my family met him and they all love him. And for valentines he sent be roses and everything and a huge birthday gift. My mom was so happy and she loves him.

I asked her if I could go up and visit him and his family this summer, she said no I’m only 17 how can I convince her I’m not a little girl anymore I love him and I want to be with him for most of this summer. He is coming over here this summer but not for long. And he have been apart for a long time already and if we don’t see eachother a lot then we have to wait til eaither next summer or christmas.. So please guys help me. How can I change her mind. I love him so much.

Hey I’m also 17 and my boyfriend is currently 3000 miles away too. I’m sorry to hear they won’t go. My parents are that way too, but I would say sit down with them and explain it all out to them. Say you’ll drop me off at the airport and the will be there to pick me up at the other one so you don’t have to worry about that. Ad for the rest of it I don’t think there’s really much you can say. I hope they let you go there! =) good luck!

wow… well done for the effort and comitment. first off <<. well, my friend is 15, 16 this year and flys down to england (us being in scotland) to see her friends. and I thought if a person is responsible enough they could fly on their own, the way you could try, would be to simply sit down with your mum, and explain to her that you’ve made your relationship work so far, and you love him so much, and you don’t want big time gaps to drift you 2 apart… and that you tell her that you know that your only 17, but you love him… and that you can’t wait til the summer.. me and my friend drifted just from not seeing eachother over 5 weeks. take responsibilty, and prove to your mum that your not a little girl. hope it all works out =)
