How can I stop feeling useless?

Lately I’ve felt like I only contribute negativity to everything. I feel like I should quit all the clubs I’m in at school because I have nothing positive to contribute. Also, my work ethic’s been decreasing a lot. I’m always really stressed trying to finish my assignments right before class. My friend said he needed to “take a break from me” because I’m too “brutally honest”. I have no idea what to do with myself. I feel like something’s really off with me and my friends don’t seem to care that I’m miserable, seeing as they just “take breaks” from me instead of asking what’s wrong. I hate high school. What the hell should I do with myself?

Answer #1

Just give up. I’m not even joking. I hated school all my life, it just got worse and worse, and halfway through high school after dealing with bullies and half assedly attempting to do school work, I one day just realized I didn’t want to do any of this crap, and I gave up. I quit doing schoolwork, I quit caring about bullies, I quit caring about everyone’s expectations, and I quit worrying that I’d be considered a “failure at life”. It was probably the best decision of my life. The pre-constructed path isn’t the only way to go.

Try to get through it as best as you can. If you need to talk to someone go to your counselor, or a teacher, and if your close enough to a parent. I felt this way before and I understand what you mean but the best thing to do is to try to get through it the best you can. If your friend’s are telling you that they need to “take a break” from you there probably not true friend’s. True friends will ask question’s so they can try and help and if they can’t they’ll try to at least point you in the correct direction. High schools a rough place sometimes and senior year is when everyone is stressed and planning there future’s. Sometimes friend’s do tend to diverge from each other. As for your clubs, I think its just awesome that your in them, please don’t quit. If you ever need someone to talk to FunMail me. Just live your days to the fullest and don’t let others put you down or allow you to feel negatively about yourself. For your clubs just being there is worth it. I hope I helped. ~Alanna
