How can I make my speech for my school elections interesting?

I am contesting for the post of assistant head girl in the student council elections held at my school.I need help in making my speech interesting,entertaining,convincing and funny.

You might want to open with a joke. I find that if someone is telling a story relating to this issue I listen better, rather than someone who is spouting statistics.
