How can I make my nails grow and stop biting them?

I have been biting my nails since I was a young teenager. My nails grow quickly so it would take no time. But I start biting the skin around my nails, then I get the corner of one and its all bad from there. The problem is I do not realize I am doing it till it is too late. What can I do to remember or stop?

Put hand sanitizer on them a lot so you have that chemical taste. Or try chewing lots of gum to keep your mouth busy.

my mum used to paint this clear nail polish one my nails and it tastes DISGUSTING! You definately know you’re biting your nails. I think its called stop and grow.

I use Nutra Nail Green Tea Growth Treatment. it helped a lot. I realized why I was bitting my nails and it was because I didn’t have anything to do with my hands so I chewed on them(my nails). so I started to hold things like elastics and little things to keep my hands busy. then I found the green tea stuff. you can put it on even with nail polish, it still grows your nails and smoothes out the ends so they are not brittle .

I’ve bitten my nails since I had teeth.. a nasty habit I picked up from my Mom.. I’ve tried everything from lemon juice to hot sauce to special nail polish that tastes nasty and nothing worked. the answer actually cost me $28 My aunt dragged me to the salon and I bought a set of acrylics.I got my favourite pattern (zebra stripes) And from the moment I saw them.. I knew there ws no way I was gonna destroy them :p Not only do I feel way more confident about how my hands look (believe me that helps) and consider my nails as part of my outfit… But they also give my nail beds and cuticles a chance to heal (I’m sure uuve noticed they cut and stuff when you bite them) and it allows my real nails to grow.. plus they help the real nails grow into a more uniform shape after all the destruction :p
