How can I do this with Windows Photo Gallery?

My mom took this picture that I wanted to re-create. So I did and I want to know how I can put her picture and my picture into one. How do you do this with Windows Photo Gallery??

I had some artwork that was too big for my scanner to get all of, so I found a computer program called Paint.NET. Search CNet for it. It allowed me to take multiple scans of my work until it was all scanned into my computer, and then join them all together to make one single image that was complete. Paint.NET started as a regular Windows Paintbrush program that was customized by college students. If you need help with the program, I can give you step by step help if you want. Or, you can just kind of play around with it. Remember you will need to resize both pics so they are the same pixel dimensions, open one and enlarge the canvas it’s on… oh, you’ll get it.

dont use windows photogallery. use photoshop
