How can I control my eating dissorders?

I suffer from depression. I eat to calm myself down and have gained 20 pounds doing this. It is killing me since I hate being fat (not saying that there is something wrong with it, just saying it because I have had really bad experiences being overweight). I do not know what to do, and every time I try to control myself, it does not work. I really need help because sometimes I just want to die. Please, do not tell me to go to a doctor or a psychiatrist; I already do this, but does not help much. Thank you

Do something creative to calm yourself down… maybe some exercise so by the time you’re at the weight you want, you’ll have some muscle too. Try some art, something different.

Do things, foe example you can go ahead and paint play a sport and forget about eathing.

Also being with people, sosializing with them. Staying appart from people can sometimes be the problem.

Or meaby when you do get the urge of eathing have a lot of fruits and vegetables to grab so atleast you are eathing healthy.

I went through depression, too, and ended up gaining a lot of weight back then. once I got out of it, though, all of my weight went straight back to normal. you could try controlling the amount of food you eat, or you could just worry about making yourself feel better.

maybe you can get into a sport or hobby so you may take your mind off eating. maybe take boxing lessons? I mean, if you have aggression or something, better to channel it to something else than eating.
