housing/rent question

5 of us girls are renting a house. the house includes -2 regular size rooms downstairs -1 larger room upstairs -A regular size loft area upstairs(where someone could sleep, but it doesnt have a door which means lack of privacy)

2 of the girls are going to be sharing the large bedroom up stairs.

do you think its fair for the 2 of them to split a 1/4 of the months rent?? -ex: A 1/4 of a months rent is $295, so they would pay $150 and the rest of us pay $295.

so do you think the 2 of them should be able to split a 1/4th of the rent??

Answer #1

NO! That is not right at all! They should have to pay what everyone else pays. It was their decision to room up with each other so they should still have to pays what everyone else pays. Just because they share the same room, doesn’t mean they can pay less then anyone else.

Answer #2

well if they are sharing a room, then they are letting go of their privacy… but really at the end of the day this decision is up to the person who owns the house…

Answer #3

no if they do that to you make them pay for some more of the bills like cable water electric food ya know lol just gona let you know when splitting a house youll prob bump heads over stuff just a warning good luck…

Answer #4

I think the girls sharing a room should indeed pay less than the girls who have their own room, but not that much less. They still have access to one fifth of the house.

I also think the girl without privacy should pay a little less… how about the sharing girls pay 200 each, the girl in the loft pays 230 and the two with their private rooms pay 275 each?
