Poem topic?

I need an idea to write a poem on because I can never think of one. Once I have a topic, I can go all out. Please give me ideas.

   Ps-I love writing sad poems, I find it much easier to do.

Write about a little boy and missing his beloved dog that ran away and was missing and that the dog makes it back home to his arms.

talk about how a child is looking for their parents aproval but can never seem to find it and then he finds out they truly just dont love him
