Having MAJOR tampon problems...

A few months ago when I had my period, I wanted to try using a tampon. So, I put one in and got in the shower. The next thing I know I am totally nauseous, and seeing spots. I took it out and felt better. Do you have any ideas why my body rejected that tampon like that? Thanks!

Answer #1

I agree with the people that answered this question. I don’t know a whole lot about tanpans but, you certainly don’t need to wear it in the shower. If you still feel nauxious, contact your Gynecologist. You don’t want to develop Tss. Good luck.

Answer #2

Do not use a tampon unless there is a heavy flow. It will hurt and cause symptoms if there is a light flow or spotting. You may need to get a smaller size tampon as well.

thats some of the symthoms of tss toxic shock syndrom you should talk to your parent about that or you doctor.

Answer #4

GO TO THE DOCTOR. THIS HAPPENED TO MY ROOMMATE AND SHE HAD TSS (TOXIC SHOCK SYNDROME) WHICH CAN BE FATAL IF NOT TREATED IN TIME…

Answer #5

I don’t know. maybe someone poisoned it :]

Answer #6

Sammie: That is really interesting. I didn’t think about that… Thanks.

one more thing if your new to using tamps maybe your body isnt used to it and you need to get used to it. Also you should always take your tampon out when you get in the shower that way you can get a good wash down there then put it in when you get out. I dont think the shower had anything to do with you feeling pukish, but thats just my opinion. But be careful I dont know a lot about TSS all I know is my roommate got it and you get it from tamps and she got really nautious and very very sick. Also dont use scented tampons for one they are pointless and if you have odor its not going to help much and for 2 the stuff they use to make it fragrant can be bad for you and cause an infection, at least thats what my Gyno said. So if you were using the scented tamps that also could be why you felt sick. Hope I didnt freak you out about the TSS, TSS is usually caused by leaving a tamp in too long or it could be caused by the tampon itself. I’d do some research and ask your Gyno. Hope I helped and good luck!

well sometimes when I get in the shower if I’m hungry that’ll happen 2 me… but I don’t know bout the whole tampon thing… coincidence mabe

Answer #9

the same thing happened to me except mine was worse. as soon as I put it in I broke out in a cold sweat, became severely nauseous, and no blood was getting to my head, my face was pale and my lips literally turned purple. so I went to the doctor and she told me I could not use tampons anymore, she said it might have to do with my body not being mature enough yet. just letting you know its NOT TSS and these people commenting have never experienced it so they dont know what theyre talking about.

Answer #10

TSS is when the tampon is in for a long period of time. The tampon was in for merely 5 minutes.

Answer #11

it may just be your body getting used to the switch to tampons.if you were using tampons with those scent things in them,it could very well be that you are allergic to the ingredients in the scenting agent. I would reccomnd using playtex gentle glide or tampax pearl as they are a little easier to get in.I would also reccomend steering away from scented pads or tampons or vaginal sprays as they can break you out down there or cause allergic reaction [[I speak from experience here, not fun]]. try putting in the tampon one more time and if the same thing happens,I would consult a local OB/GYN.

also a little note, never wear a tampon more than three hours or TSS is shure to happen. and another thing, showers are no place for tampons unless your at school showring after gym class dear =]

hope I helped.

Answer #12

Don’t Use them in the shower. You really dont need them while your in the shower. Maybe try using a different type of tampon like Playtex gentle glide or pearl tampons… Trying again and if you still feel nauseous… then maybe you just cant wear them… If this still continues then contact your gynecologist maybe she can tell you why this is happening. Good luck!!!
