Is it very hard to get a job in biomedical science in the UK?

I really want to travel and work somewhere other than New Zealand. Seeing as my highest qualification is in science I would prefer to work in this area, maybe as a lab technician or a research assistant, and my boyfriend is thinking of doing his PhD in the UK which could work out well! Are there many jobs in this field available? Also, does anyone know any good websites for finding jobs in the UK?

I think it depends on where in the US you are looking. Where I live (Durham, NC) we have an area called “Research Triangle Park” where there are TONS of tech and research companies. I know Glaxo-Smith-Cline (is that how you spell it?) and other large pharmaceutical companies are often hiring chemists and the like. So here it wouldn’t be a problem for you.

For me, it’s an issue. Any editing needed around here is “technical” editing, mostly medical, especially with Duke Hospital nearby.
