Go to your local mall. They often have gift certificates that you can use in any store there. You can purchase them at the mall office. Then take your 16 year old to the mall and let her loose. You can’t go wrong. :)

Clothes!! Itunes gift card? Shoes? Perfume? Make up? Depends what her favorite things are

A CAR?!?

I’m not sure if they have some kind of gift certificates or something, but for my kid’s birthdays they always are allowed to change the decorations in their rooms. Almost all the decorations are vinyl wall decor and they’re really fun. She’ll need help putting them up, but they just peel off and get thrown away when she tires of them. She could choose a picture, a quote or make up something to write on her wall. Craft stores like Michael’s and AC Moore have some small, simple words and graphics if you know her well enough. I think I’ve seen a few at Target too.

well my daughter just had her 16th birthday and I loved what I got for her! I got her an ipod, lab top, camera, I pod speakers, tones of clothes, a room makeover, movies, gift cards, a car, cell phone, jewlery, money, new glasses, a flat screen for my room, wii, xbox 360, new desk, dresser and bef frame. and yeah it was a really good birthday.

why not a gift vocher for music? that way you dont have to try and work out what music shes into and you know she will be happy with it

I got my daughter a new pencil and a snickers bar. She ABSOLUTELY loved it. The pencil was her favorite color. I also gave her a card and wrote that I love her.

well however I am younger my friends are older than me and they are exactly like that…usually we have to find something to do with what they like…like differnt things for their ipod or a new journal or something that they can work with creatively…if you go into a store like a music store or anything just ask a clerk what would be the best choice they may ask questions what the person is into and then help you by that…GOOD LUCK
